About This Quote

When you look at Van Gogh, Jesus, Buddha, Mother Teresa from a "fiscal" perspective, they were homeless. When you look at them from a humanityperspective, they were priceless. It’s easy to be moved by an image of the poor or the sick. It’s easy to feel happy when we see someone smiling and it’s even easier to say we know what it feels like to be poor.

Unfortunately, we don’t. We don’t experience poverty and we don’t face death on a daily basis and we sure as hell don’t experience love and compassion on a daily basis. The people that we see as homeless or those that we see as poor are people that have been through tragedy and despair beyond our understanding.
